HOF 2006 – Academics/Achievement
Born in Odessa, Russia, Tiny escaped to the United States of American with her family at the age of four. Although she spoke no English when she started school, she overcame language barriers and graduated in the top five percent of her class.
After her husband’s death in 1972, Tiny set her sights on a law degree and at age 53 started her college career. She received her J. D from Indiana University, Indianapoli8s School of Law in 1980.
Tiny has served as a secretary and assistant manager of the Clark County Chamber of Commerce, a Chief Probation Officer for Clark County Circuit and Superior Courts, a research consultant for P.A.C.E, and the Institutional Parole Officer, Indiana Women’s Prison, Indianapolis. Tiny served as a judge for the Clark Superior Court No. 1 and was elected to serve as a Clark County Councilperson.
She is the recipient of numerous awards for outstanding Judicial Service and Support to the Children an d Youth of Indiana including: Woman of Distinction Award, Rosa Parks Award, Distinguished Alumni Award – Presented by Indiana University School of Continuing Studies Alumni Association, and I AM MYNE OWENE WOMMAN WELL AT ESE Award.
Tiny practiced law at Barthold and DeSimone with her daughter who is also a lawyer. She has two children, Judith and John. Tiny passed away April 21, 2016.
